Strada Romantica delle Langhe e del Roero
A physical and emotional journey

The eleven panoramic points are perfect places for rest and observation, inviting visitors to take time for themselves to admire the landscape.

Straying into the beauty of Langhe and Roero.

The Langhe and Roero are a mosaic of numerous landscapes, impossible to be encompassed with a single glance. The sceneries are better discovered slowly, following a course that allows you to reconstruct a whole universe little by little. The Strada Romantica of the Langhe and Roero – created by GAL Langhe Roero Leader within the framework of the EC Initiative Leader Plus – works on this approach: to describe a unique, yet diverse landscape, through aspects that, by tradition or suggestion, know how to evoke the spirit of the whole.

At the centre of the scene are eleven stop points which reveal the extraordinary natural landscape and human presence. A plot of histories and memories, told through eleven stories – it starts by exploring the relationship between mankind and his land, the local popular traditions, up to the most recent history- a priceless heritage.

The panoramic points

The Strada Romantica of the Langhe and Roero has been conceived to offer tourists an original travel experience, in respect of the rhythms and spirit of the territory. The trail, on the hills-top or in the shade of the ancient towers, have been created to allow visitors to fully enjoy the landscape that hosts them. At each stop visitors will find information panels placed to help tourists and provide details on the surrounding tourist attractions with hints and suggestions to proceed along the path, these panels are called “Quinte informative”; along with them, there are a series of display boards, recalling the sinuous form of the surrounding hills, that suggest an interpretation of the territory, called “Cippi panoramici”.

The talking tree

The eleven panoramic points are perfect places for rest and observation, inviting visitors to take time for themselves to admire the landscape. The Talking tree has leaves with literary passages imprinted on them, while the “romantic bench” invites you to seat and relax.

A physical and emotional journey

From one stop to the next, looking at one of the most fascinating views in the world, you will come into contact with the jewels of this land: flourishing vineyards, truffles and hazelnut grove, medieval villages made of small gems of rural architecture, castles, towers and the magnificent manors that look down from up on striking peaks. La Strada Romantica of the Langhe and Roero is a physical and emotional journey: over one hundred kilometres of roads and paths set in a landscape of irresistible charm.
